Ready For Fall

This post features my two favorite things: fall and HomeGoods. As soon as September 1 came around, I pulled out all of my fall decorations.

And after perusing several blogs last night I came across a post on The Inspired Room. She is hosting Fall Nesting 2009. Here you can find a collection of fellow bloggers showing off their fall decor. Not only that, but you can be entered into the $200 HomeGoods shopping spree giveaway! How great is that?!

So here is the start of my fall decorating:

A vase filled with fall colored acorns. And two acorn tea light votives.

Fall colored table runner and metallic pumpkins and glass acorn.

A sign on the front door. I would also like to find a wheat wreath to hang around this sign.

Leaf candle votives.

A pumpkin that can be lit up with a small candle inside.

Happy Fall!

2nd Tablescape

What's black and white and red all over? My second tablescape!

I just found this black and white tablecloth at Home Goods and decided to add some red accents.

This is my Crate & Barrel sugar and creamer. They sit on a little silver tray that I found at an antique store.

The silver glass were also found at an antique store. They have a metallic finish to them that kind of look like mercury glass.

The red plates and red placemats are from Home Goods. And the white napkins are from Ikea.

The hurricanes and flower tea light holders are also from Home Goods.

Snippet & Ink

Even though I've been married for nine months now I still love checking out the wedding website Snippet & Ink. The photos are just so beautiful and the color combinations are great inspiration. Here's just a taste...

Entertaining On The Fly

I'm getting ready for an out-of-town girls weekend tomorrow and was trying to think of something fun to bring. I thought I would try my mom's trick of fast sangria.

Trader Joe's sells a bottle of pre-mixed sangria.

Then you can also buy bags of frozen fruit. These contain mango, papaya, raspberries, blueberries and pineapple. Yum!

Then just add them together in a fun container. It takes no time at all!

Cheers!

Tablescape Thursday

I'm so excited to do my first Tablescape Thursday. I regularly check out Between Naps on the Porch every Thursday to see all the beautiful and inspiring tablescapes of other bloggers. Hopefully I keep this up and participate every week.

During our move a couple of weeks ago I came across a set of dishes that I completely forgot I had. They are a bridal themed set of dessert plates that I had received at my own bridal shower. So I decided to do a tablescape for a bridal luncheon. I have 5 friends that will be getting married in the next year so this tablescape may come in handy in the future.

All of the glasses and the pitcher were also wedding gifts.

After opening these dishes, I realized that each plate had a different picture on it. This one is of the bride & groom.

Champagne flutes.

A flower bouquet.

And a wedding cake. (each plate is sitting on top of scrapbook paper for a placemat)

I bought some beautiful carnations at Costco.

These candle votives were left over from a baby shower I threw for my co-worker. I bought them at Ikea for $3.00 for a set of 6. And the small cake slice is an individual candle that came in a set. This was also a shower gift :)
